Lockdown Learning Update

Lockdown Learning in Room 7 - A Guide for Parents This is an outline of what is expected from students in Room 7 each day.  First of all every student should check their school emails for instructions, updates and extra activities, and then log into Google Classroom to access daily asssignments. Each day I would expect students to complete a writing task, a reading task and a math task. Of course engaging in learning from home is completely optional and it is up to parents how much you expect your child to do.  There are also extra optional activities available. And if students need any additional school work, they can go back and complete previous set assignments as no student has completed all assignments set on google classroom.  I set tasks on Mathletics every one to two days and have assigned students a Fractions workbook to work through in google classroom. They may need some parental assistance with some of the tasks, as it gets more difficult as they work t...
Lockdown Learning August 2021 Hi Room 7, hopefully this will be a very short lockdown and we will be back in class real soon!  Check your emails and google classroom for ideas and ways to keep up with your learning from home.  (I'll update these tomorrow- Wednesday 18th August) I will set you a few tasks on Google Classroom to keep you busy, and if you need me to share your mathletics logon details, email me and I will send them to you.  Remember to keep reading and recording how long you read for each day - make sure mum or dad are keeping track so they can sign the slip! You should have lots of chances in the draw when we get back to school!  Stay happy, safe and warm, Love Ms S

Haiku Poems

Image
A Haiku poem is a Japanese poem that is made up of 3 lines. It doesn't rhyme and it is about nature. The first line has 5 syllables, The second line has 7 syllables, The third line has 5 syllables. When we went to the Haiku Trail in KatiKati, we found out that people have changed the way they are written now and they don't follow the traditional way with the syllables any more.  Dorothy  Here are our Haiku Poems:

FUNKY FUN DAY On Wednesday my class went to Baypark for Funky Fun Day. We went for all of the day, it was so much fun.We were all in three teams, I was in team one. All the games were cool. There was tug-a-war, floorball, soccer, basketball, relays and bowling. Trish. Funky Fun Day was super fun because we got to play lots of sport.  My favourite sport was floorball, it was lots of fun because I was good at it. It was like hockey, I really like playing it. My second favourite sport was futsal, I like futsal because you could just kick the ball around however you want. My third favourite thing that we did was tug-of-war because my group was super good at it and my group won both of the rounds. But when we got to the boys vs girls the boys lost because there were so many more girls than boys. A good sport was badminton. I like playing badminton with the balloon because you could hit them and play a lot easier than with the shuttlecocks. Another favourite thing that we did was the...

Our whole school topic this year is TIME MACHINE  This term our syndicate is looking at " Technology Through the Ages".          On Fridays we are doing technology challenges which also promote team work, leadership and problem solving. Each class is learning about a different aspect of technology and Room 7 is focussing on the Technology of Clothing. We will be unpacking this over the last four weeks of the term.  Art work by Ayla Radley
Welcome to our Room 7 Blog. Keep an eye out for regular updates, information and students work.  Use the "Pages" at the top of the blog to find ideas, games and activities that students can use at home to support their learning.  I will continue to add to these resources throughout the year.  I will link class newsletters and info regarding trips etc to the blog. Regards, Donelle
